Beautifully Natural

The usual “denture plate”, replaces missing teeth in the mouth. Made with acrylic for a natural aesthetic, removable for cleaning and over night.

Natural looking filings

White fillings to fix decayed teeth. Standard mercury fillings can also be replaced with more modern aesthetic white fillings

Titanium Screws

These are titanium screws inserted under the gums in the bone. Attached to the implants are crowns, bridges or dentures.

Painless fixes

Modern crowns are now constructed made entirely of ceramic. The teeth will have a more natural appearance, especially important on front teeth.

Fill the Gaps

Their aim is to fill a gap or gaps between teeth. They are cemented to the teeth adjacent to the gap, so they do not have to be removed.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Teeth severely affected by dental disease are reconstructed usually through a combination of crowns, bridges and other restorations.

Beautify your smile

Custom trays are made in the laboratory to fit over the teeth. The patients receives a bleach gel that will be placed in the trays and then worn over the teeth for two weeks.

Reshaping the perfect smile

Composite’ material (the usual white filling material) is bonded to the outer surface of a tooth to change its shade, size and align your tooth for the prefect smile.

Protection from bacteria

To prevent food getting trapped in the grooves and fissures your children’s teeth, fissure sealants are recommended to aid in daily brushing of the teeth and fight against bacteria.

These are very thin restorations made of porcelain, made in a laboratory and then bonded to the natural tooth for a perfectly sculpted aesthetic.

Realign your smile

Fixed metal/ceramic brackets are used to straighten teeth and adjust the bite, giving the patient that perfect, straight smile and a healthy realigned bite.

Top Class Dental Hygiene

Patients will benefit from effective cleaning techniques that remove tartar, plaque and especially stains, including scaling and polishing for both normal and sensitive teeth.

Stains such as tea, coffee, wine, and smoking sensitively removed

Fissure Sealants

Fissure sealants are recommended for children as soon as their permanent molars and premolars erupt.Children’s pits and fissure (grooves) on the biting surface of their teeth tend to be deep and hard to clean. If these are not cleaned correctly, it can lead to cavities. To prevent food trapping in these grooves and to aid in cleaning, fissure sealants are recommended.A fissure sealant is a material (usually a plastic resin) which is applied to the biting surface of teeth to fill the pits and fissure (grooves).

This has been a very successful preventative measure for childhood cavities as the sealant acts as a barrier by protecting the enamel from plaque and acids.

Tooth Extractions

There are many reasons why a tooth may need to be extracted. Whatever the reason, we will ensure the procedure is comfortable and pain-free. A strong local anaesthetic is used to completely numb the tooth and the surrounding tissues prior to the tooth removal. This numbness will last anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours!

Patient will be advised on the best treatment to replace the removed tooth/teeth.

Dental Emergencys

A dental emergency not only refers to tooth pain but other issues surrounding the tissues in the mouth which may need to be given immediate attention. Examples of dental emergencies include, but are not limited to, infections, fractured tooth or dental restoration.

White Tooth Fillings

Fillings are an effective and easy way of preventing further damage to a decayed or broken tooth. Fillings work by adding a tough material to an area to help strengthen the decayed tooth and prevent any further damage being caused. Every patients teeth are a unique shade of white. That is why we match every filling shade to the patients specific tooth colour.

Previously, many dentists used amalgam filling material to restore teeth. These fillings were black/silver in colour and proved to be quite unsightly. It is commonplace to replace these old fillings with more aesthetically pleasing white/tooth coloured restorations.

Root Canal Treatment

When a tooth has been damaged or has become heavily decayed, bacteria and plaque can start attacking the sensitive and fragile interior root and nerve of the tooth. This can be extremely painful and must be treated as soon as possible to prevent the risk of developing an abscess. If left untreated for too long, an infection can spread and tooth removal may be the only option remaining.

Root canal treatment is an effective way to prevent further complications. It works by clearing the infection caused by bacteria and plaque whilst also saving the tooth which is often badly decayed or traumatised.

Orthodontic Treatment

Our clinic provides patients with orthodontic treatments for misaligned teeth. These alignment problems are treated with the use of corrective appliances, such as braces. The goal is to bring the teeth and jaws into proper alignment.

What problems can be corrected through Orthodontic treatment ?

Overcrowded teeth are the most common reason that people seek orthodontic treatment, followed by prominent teeth.

How does it work ?

The growth of a patientʼs face and jaws is evaluated by the orthodontist, as well as the alignment of his or her teeth. Then, using very gentle, controlled forces, the teeth will be guided into the correct position. During the final stage of treatment, the patient will have to wear retention devices (retainers) to ensure that teeth remain in the proper place.

How long will treatment take ?

Some minor treatment can be completed in six months. The more complicated procedures will usually,  involve wearing appliances (braces) for between 18 and 24 months, although some treatments may be shorter or longer. In more complex cases you may be required to wear more than one appliance. During the initial stage of the treatment, the orthodontist will provide the patient with an approximate time according to each patient’s situation

What are invisible braces ?

Fixed braces can be made less visible by using materials such as porcelain that match the tooth colour better or by placing them inside the teeth. Another option is the use of clear plastic materials that fit over the teeth. During the initial assessment, the orthodontist will provide the patient with all alternatives available.

What is the best age to have treatment ?

For children, at around 6 or 7 years of age, an orthodontic assessment is recommended. Occasionally some short intervention is beneficial at this young age to minimise or even sometimes eliminate the need for later treatment. Even if early treatment is not needed, seeing a child at a young age allows the orthodontist to monitor the childʼs development and then intervene at the optimal time.

For adults, it is never too late to have treatment. As long as your teeth and gums are healthy there is no age limit to treatment.

Is Orthodontic treatment painful ?

The process of fitting braces is not painful. Some discomfort is to be expected for a period after appliances are fitted for the first time or after they have been tightened. However, this usually settles after a few days.

Fill the gaps

Most common problems with missing or broken teeth are eating difficulties and dental hygiene issues. Broken teeth can also lead to problems with confidence, self-esteem, and can be responsible for a reduced quality of life.

What are dental crowns and bridges ?

A dental crown consists of a small “cap” that is added to the top of the damaged tooth and is usually made from porcelain, however, a variety of different materials are available depending on the patient’s requirements.

Dental bridges are similar to dental crowns but are used when a group of teeth are damaged beyond repair or missing. They are custom made for the patient, and are permanently fitted to ensure they stay strong and secure.

What is the procedure?

Usually, at first, the dentist will discuss the various options of the crowns and bridges and discuss the suitability of the materials to the patient’s needs. An appointment will then be set for the patient in order to have the teeth prepared for the crowns/bridges. An impression will then be taken of the teeth. This will be used in the lab to manufacture the crown or bridge required.

If possible, the patient will be provided with temporary teeth to cover as much as possible any unsightly gaps.

Once the crowns and bridges are complete the dentist will then arrange an appointment to fit them.

What are porcelain veneers ?

Dental veneers are small layers of material (usually porcelain) that are fixed permanently to the exterior surface of a broken, chipped, or otherwise damaged tooth.

By fixing them to teeth, they can improve their shape, colour and positioning.

They are colour matched to ensure they don’t look out of place with the rest of your teeth and are added with minimal difficulty.

They are used primarily for the visible front-facing teeth but can be added to rear teeth when necessary.

Dental Veneers, Crowns and Bridges are an effective and affordable treatment that help to fix, strengthen and improve the appearance of damaged or missing teeth preventing any future dental issues from occurring.

Our clinic provides patients with dental implants to replace single tooth gaps or to replace the entire mouth for patients with no teeth.

What is a dental implant ?

A dental implant is a small titanium screw which replaces the root of the tooth. Once it is healed in the bone, it can be restored with a crown which looks, feels and functions just like a normal tooth.

What are dental implants used for ?

They can replace single, multiple or all teeth with fixed bridges.

Also two or more implants placed in the bone underneath a denture can considerably increase the retention and stability of the denture.

There are other applications including an aid in orthodontic procedures and bone maintenance.

What are the steps involved ?

The procedure has to be customised to the patient’s exact clinical situation.

Most common procedure, the replacement of a single tooth would normally involve the following steps:

  • The failed tooth is removed. If possible, a temporary restoration (tooth) is supplied so the missing tooth is not visible.
  • Depending of the healing, some weeks later the titanium implant is gently inserted at the location of a previous tooth.
  • A few months later, depending on the reaction of the surrounding bone, the implant can be used to support a new crown that will function and look much like a natural tooth

What are the advantages of dental implants ?

Implants have many advantages including looking just like natural teeth, not damaging adjacent teeth and restoring the patient’s bite and function. Implants feel just like natural teeth and don’t decay. They will also maintain the bone in the surrounding area for a longer period of time.

Do implants require maintenance ?

Yes crucial for the overall bodies health of the patient. This is discussed and emphasised with every patient undergoing this procedure.
